Keep Blogging
It has been nearly 2 years since I started to blog, but the only 100 posts included articles of others and homework I did for school were not a good sign to me. For many commitments to blog more often which I told myself to do has never been enough. I always fail to do it.
I know that people always wait for the right time to start, yet I don’t know when it will be the right one for me if I cannot commit to it every time like this.
Maybe you wonder why I would bother to blog, blog for what and blog for what. Well, you have read a lot of books and document written by others in published work, but don’t you want your work to be read by others. If you do so, the free and fun way to be a self-publisher is to blog because you can post anything that comes to your mind.
Anyway, I still have some other reasons why I have to be more committed to blog. I guess for most of Cambodian, we were born with no culture or habits of reading and writing. We read things that we are assigned to read while we don’t write diary like most westerns do.
So by blogging, it can be a way for me to learn more both writing and reading and that will help me to understand things better. To blog anything, I need content, so I have to read or do anything to get it to post. Ah if you love to share ideas, it is an easy way to disseminate yours. You can take it as a way to share your knowledge to the world and you can see how much improved you are by reading what you had written and what you are writing. Last but not least it can a be a great diary online of my journey of life which I believe it can be an inspiring content for readers in some ways and a memory for me, as the owner of the blog.
Like last two days, I read a post that I wrote about the flower that I had grown along the way with my life. It was so fun and joyful to recall things back then. I remember that at that time I was wondering when the flower I had grown blossomed (Flower= any scholarships or programs I applied).
By reading that, I could see how much I wanted the opportunity that I have got so far such as an internship in Jakarta, Indonesia and the exchange program in Italy right now. That ignites my soul and heart to consider what I am doing if I have put enough effort into it or not.
It makes me think and think and I tell myself I have to do to my utmost to get the best out of the program I am in because this is something that I wanted so bad and not many can get such an opportunity, either. I will struggle every obstacle and bring back what it takes to be a great person who can contribute to my society. I don’t want to say “I wish I had done this and that” but I will say “I am glad that I have done this and that.”
Back to writing blogging, I was really inspired by my former senior student, Kounila Koe, [You can see her blog by clicking on this] Her writing encouraged me to write more and when I have no feeling to write, I can just read her blog. I will be ready to write anything. She is my role model.
Lately, I have read some other blogs like one belongs to Jeff Goins. [Read his blog]. He is so good at writing and I love his writing due to the personality and graceful way of expression he has included into his work.
As mentioned above, I myself do not really love writing and reading because I spent time watching and listening more but I have to change this since I believe it will make me an even better person.
I hope to become a greater writer in the future and I can get my own books published one day. I will keep the spirit of writing inside my soul and take as many chances as possible to write anything and experience I have encountered. Practice makes thing perfect, so you will see more of my writings if you keep update with it or sign up for any new posts.

Thank you my friend for encouragement. It really feel good to read what I have written and see the mistakes I made with my writing. You know the post in March was so funny especially all of your comments. I will keep this spirit with me. <3
Really enjoy reading your blog! I ahve been in Cambodia many times, and whn i do not go I feel empty! Love reading about Italy is exotic beiing from Europe and living in the states asia is exotix to me! One thing that really striked me was the fact that you mention that “blogging-journaling” is not in the Khmer culture and that at school you were not really encouraged to critique and think for yourself! at least this is what i am reading! I hope that you keep on travellinga nd that you keep on sharing your stories! Keep at it! someone like me may just reading and find something to think about! happy writing!
Thank you a lot for reading my blog and enjoying what I have written. Like what I wrote, Cambodians do not spend much time reading because they do not have habits of reading, so if they don’t read, they don’t write either. I just wanna break this negative practice in my country. I hope more Cambodians start to read and write to share with others especially through blogging. I will keep up this work Laurence and hope some people like you out there enjoy my writing more.
